DRIFTING WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT
Y-O-U

If you made it here, odds are, you’re some type of drifting fan or car enthusiast. Welcome to the first fan-focused article from Drift Enthusiast Magazine that’s all about Y-O-U, the ultimate drifting fan.

We had a little fun putting our spectacles on at the tracks last year to study the profiles of every ultimate drifting fan we could find. We’re hoping you’ll enjoy going down our checklist to identify all of the zany, drift-crazy characters that fit (or used to fit) your own Ultimate DriftEM Fandom persona. Check out the thumbnails below, then click on the ‘START HERE’ button to share your fan favorites with us.

We’ll take it from there, but don’t forget tell your friends on social about what you scored and why. Be sure to tag us at @driftenthusiastmag, because you never know - you (and your post) might just get some airplay in a future DriftEM issue ;)

Wait, there’s more! Keep watch for your chance to snag a DriftEM Ultimate Fandom sticker (or two) at one of your favorite drifting events this year. We’re a bit biased, but we think they’re pretty cool and you’ll want to collect them all! (online stickers and merch coming later this year!)

Oh…and if we missed an important group out there, don’t take it personally. By all means, shout it out to us through our contact page, and we’ll add it to an already growing list of contestants for the next Ultimate Fandom qualifying round.

Cowabunga, fellow drifters!

  • Drift Dolls - All the kickass girls in the world that love drifting.

  • Drift Dudes - All the kickass guys in the world that love drifting.

  • Lens Junkies - These fans always - and we mean ALWAYS - have the camera up high and rarely ever see an entire run or battle in real-time.

  • Lot Trovers - We all know those people who hang out in the back parking lot, right? Well, in drifting, these are legit peeps hangin in the lot just to see all the sweet cars.

  • Wall Flowers - These fans - and you know you are - can’t miss a thing happening on the track (even if it’s nothing!) You don’t forfeit your perch, except for the occasional life-sustaining need like food, a bathroom, or that tall, cold beverage.

  • Tunerheads - The diehards that walk every square inch of a drift venue to inspect, oogle over, and high-five every rad machine in the place.

  • Hoonigoons - If Hoonigan Industries inspired your love for drifting, this one’s for you. Honk if you love the awesome Hoonigan brand too!

  • Merch Mavericks - You can’t miss these booth trollers proudly wearing every piece of drift clothing and paraphernalia they’ve ever purchased.

  • True Crew - The crazy dudes and dudettes that ride through the crowds on big scooters, minibikes, golf carts, skateboards, or anything else with wheels that can mob.

  • Grub Rubbers - You know the type - the food line is never too long.

  • Brew Loopers - When “I can see just fine from here,” is REALLY. JUST. FINE.

  • Drift Catchers - For these fans, the intense sensory experience of drifting is almost spiritual. It’s all about the snaps, crackles, pops… and rumbles… and burning nostrils… ‘nuf said!

  • Show Stoppers - These guys are as serious as heart attacks about their cars and they live to show them off in the car shows every chance they can get.

  • Crystal Ballers - C’mon! It wouldn’t be a drifting competition without everyone trying to call the battle before the judges do (and don’t you think nailing it is simply the best?)

  • Drifterloos - Fans who can’t explain why they’re even there, but they know it’s a cool place to be.

  • Skid Addicts - Drivers, crew, spectators, supporters, and any other drift fan that literally counts down the hours until their next track day.

  • Social Drones - You’ll recognize these fans because they’re ALWAYS glued to their phones and busy posting, liking, sharing, and commenting.

  • YouTuners - Every armchair drift fan with a huge passion for the sport.

  • Drift Newbs - We all started here, so everyone gets to check this one off! These fans have an unmistakable expression that screams a fun mix of ‘deer in the headlights’ and ‘I think the light just went on’.

  • Pit Sharks - A weird mix of scouters, gearheads, swooners, geeks, and tire snaggers. These people are so in love with the drivers, they’ll literally hang out anywhere, for as long as it takes, just to get a chance at a pic or an autograph.

  • Tandem Buddies - These are the fans that ONLY show up for battle day, but love it all, just like the rest of us.

  • Media Maniacs - Anyone with a backstage pass… badge… shirt… or whatever it takes to get them closer to the action and working behind the scenes.

  • Driftastics - The people behind every sponsor, tuner, tire, and merch booth that are putting in time and money to benefit the sport and the drifting community.

Thanks for getting your DriftEM spirit on! We hope you’ll take a minute to [heart] us on all your pages and lend support by telling your fellow drift buddies about this rad, new drift-focused online magazine. We look forward to seeing you and your Ultimate Fandom spirit at the track!
