And, wrench or no wrench, it turned out to be a happily strange miracle week for RTR’s James Deane! After his Mustang literally went up in flames on Media Day, the RTR crew worked round the clock to get Deane’s ride reassembled for competition. According to RTR’s Jonathan Millstein, the saving grace was being in the right place at the right time. “We were lucky (not that it was lucky at all!) this happened on Media Day, and we happened to be in the Southern California market, with easy access to parts and supplies,” he shared.
Fast forward, and despite some unsettling times with the rig randomly shutting off, the three-time champion mastered his way through the tough Long Beach course… in the pouring rain… like… well…. a guy that drifts a lot in the rain!
